Shane’s entrepreneurial spirit emerged at an early age. By seven years old, he was already earning his own money mowing lawns, charging $5 to $10 per yard. On one particular day, he made his first $50—a moment that ignited his passion for business and showed him the power of hard work and financial independence.

By ten years old, Shane had already built a diverse income stream—continuing to mow lawns, deliver newspapers, and take on odd jobs to support himself. While most kids his age were focused on school and play, Shane was already learning how to manage money, set goals, and build his own future.

Education & The First Steps Toward Independence

At 16 years and 8 months old, in 1994, Shane earned his GED—a moment that signified his determination to take control of his own future, on his own terms. He immediately entered the workforce, working at a maintenance company where he learned various trade skills.

Stepping Into Leadership: The Birth of an Entrepreneur

Shortly after starting in maintenance, Shane transitioned into the construction industry, where he was introduced to electrical work. His ability to learn quickly, adapt, and take initiative led to a defining moment:

1. Within six months of entering the construction industry, he wired his first house as the lead electrician.

2. He was just 18 years old, leading a four-man crew—most of whom had three to five years of experience.

His natural leadership, technical skill, and drive set him apart. While most people his age were still trying to figure out their careers, Shane was already building his future—one that would soon expand into something far greater than he ever imagined.

At 18.5 years old, Shane took a bold step forward and officially founded Shane’s Maintenance Service (SMS). What began as a one-man operation, with a $6,500 labor-only job, painting a large 5,000 sq ft exterior of a house to paint—where Shane handled small contracts and maintenance work himself—soon expanded into a 21-man crew by 2006 was a thriving business driven by his unwavering dedication to quality, efficiency, and integrity.

On January 23, 2023, Shane made a life-changing decision—to never drink again. This commitment to sobriety, self-discipline, and transformation became a turning point in his life, allowing him to fully dedicate himself to his business, mentorship, and faith-driven mission.
